Unless you were fortunate enough to stumble across a classified ad in the back of a niche magazine or to find a group in one of the bigger cities, you mostly had to keep this part of yourself locked away. Connecting with another spanko? For many, it was a fantasy in itself.
And then along came the internet.
Today, thanks to numerous online spaces — websites, blogs (like this one), Tumblr feeds, Twitter (yes, I still refuse to call it X), apps like Whappz, and podcasts such as Dudes Spankin’ Dudes — it has never been easier to find and connect with others who share this interest. What once felt lonely or strange now has thriving communities where people can express, explore, and embrace this side of themselves.
For me, and I know for many others, there’s so much to be thankful for in this digital age of connection. I’ve made real friendships and meaningful relationships through these online communities — bonds that would never have been possible in those earlier days.
So, as we enter this week of giving thanks, I want to take a moment to appreciate how the internet has allowed us all to connect with people who “get it.” Whether you’re new to the scene or have been part of it for years, it’s a gift to be able to find others who speak your language — of OTKs, paddles, straps, bratting, discipline, accountability, catharsis, fun, and everything in between.
In addition to the places I’ve already mentioned, here are a few more ways spanking enthusiasts can connect with one another today:
FetLife — One of the largest kink-centered social networks.
Reddit — Subreddits like r/spanking and r/otkspanking.
Discord — Numerous active kink and spanking-focused servers.
SouthSpanking — A long-standing online forum for those into spanking.
SpankThisHookups — A hookup and personal ad site for spankos.
Recon — A kink-focused app that includes spanking.
Local munches and parties — Many local kink communities host regular meet-ups.
Patreon creators — Many spanking content creators build great online communities for their supporters.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already found at least one of these paths — but if not, maybe this will give you a starting point. I know from experience: once you realize you’re not alone, everything changes.
And that, my friends, is something I’ll always be thankful for.
