The minute Tyler walked in the door, Logan knew something was wrong.
Tyler’s usual bounce was missing. No cheeky grin, no teasing hello. Instead, his shoulders were hunched, his face pale, and he stood in the doorway fidgeting with a folded piece of paper.
Logan looked up from the kitchen. “What is it?”
Tyler swallowed. His voice was shaky. “Um… I… I need to show you something.”
He walked over slowly, eyes downcast, and held out the paper with trembling fingers. Logan unfolded it.
A speeding ticket.
Logan’s jaw tightened. “How fast?”
Tyler winced. “Fifteen over…” His voice broke. “In a 35.”
Logan took a deep breath, the paper crinkling in his hand. His gaze locked on Tyler. “You know exactly how I feel about speeding.”
“I know,” Tyler whispered, eyes filling. “I wasn’t thinking. I—I was singing along to the radio and I guess… I pressed down on the gas without realizing. Then the lights and siren were behind me. Logan, I didn’t mean to. It was an accident.”
Logan’s expression was grim. “An accident that could’ve gotten you hurt. Or someone else. You know better.”
Tyler’s lip trembled. He knew what was coming — and he knew he deserved it. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I really am.”
Logan set the ticket down on the dining room table — right in the center. He turned back toward the hall closet. Tyler’s heart sank.
When Logan returned, he was holding The Paddle — the heavy wooden one with the holes drilled in it.
Tyler’s breath caught. “Logan… please… not that paddle. Please.”
Logan’s tone was implacable. “You know I have zero tolerance for speeding, Tyler. You know why. And this isn’t about bratting or teasing. It’s about your safety — and the safety of everyone else on the road.”
He pointed at the table. “Bend over. Hands flat.”
Tyler’s eyes brimmed with tears already. But he obeyed — moving slowly, placing his palms flat on the cool surface, the ticket right there under his nose to remind him exactly why he was about to be punished.
Logan stepped behind him, tugged down Tyler’s jeans and underwear in one motion, baring his backside.
“You will remember this,” Logan said. “Because I can’t lose you. And I won’t have you reckless behind the wheel.”
Then the first swat landed — a hard, brutal smack that cut through the silence with a loud CRACK and sent a fiery sting deep into Tyler’s skin.
Tyler gasped — tears spilling over already. “Ahh! Logan—please—”
But Logan wasn’t stopping. The paddle with holes moved fast, each strike sharp and unforgiving, the sound echoing in the room.
“You know better.” CRACK
“You could’ve been hurt — or worse.” CRACK
“Or hurt someone else.” CRACK
Tyler was openly sobbing now, his tears falling onto the table, the ticket blurring in front of his eyes. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I swear—I’ll be careful!”
But Logan pressed on, determined. “You will think about this paddle every time you start that car. You will remember how this felt.”
The spanking went on — each strike harder than the last, until Tyler was crying uncontrollably, his bottom blazing red, every inch of him trembling.
Finally, when Logan was sure the message had been driven home, he set the paddle aside. Gently, he pulled Tyler upright and wrapped him in his arms.
Tyler clung to him, sobbing against his chest.
Logan held him close. “Shhh, it’s over now. You deserved that, baby. You know why.”
Through broken sobs, Tyler gasped, “I do… I know… I’m so sorry, Logan. I’ll never do it again. I promise. I didn’t mean to scare you—”
Logan cupped his face. “It’s not just about you being bratty, sweetheart. It scares me when you’re reckless. I don’t know what I’d do without you. And it’s not just about you — you could’ve hurt someone else too.”
Tyler nodded fiercely, wiping at his tears. “I swear, I’ll be careful. I promise.”
Logan kissed his forehead. “Good boy. Come on — let’s put some lotion on you.”
He led Tyler tenderly to the bathroom and rubbed cool lotion into his burning skin, soothing him as Tyler sniffled quietly.
Afterward, Logan tucked him onto the couch, wrapped him in his favorite blanket, and they settled into their usual evening routine — Tyler sore, tear-streaked, and spent, but safe in Logan’s arms.
And in the back of his mind, Tyler knew: the next time he got behind the wheel, he’d remember that paddle… and the love that drove every swat.
